CONTEXT

The micro, small and medium enterprises in Brazil, (that has up to 99 employees) do not have compulsory quotas for hiring persons with disabilities, however they represent a large number of the jobs created in the Country, and thus in the State of São Paulo.

According to SEBRAE-NA, in Brazil there is 6,4 million establishments. Of these, 99% are micro and small enterprises (MPEs) that account for 52% of formal jobs in the private sector.

Of the Jobs created by MPEs around 80 thousand places are filled by persons with disabilities, therefore this category was included in the 3rd edition of the Award of 2016, aiming to identify, recognize and award good practices of inclusion of this important segment of the economy.
